About Determined Divas
Through workshops, real-life experiences, team building, and the injection of knowledge, Determined Divas aims to create a supportive and nurturing "village" that unites generations and provides a strong support system for single mothers and young girls. Founded by a native Bostonian, we take pride in our direct connection to the neighborhoods we support.

Our mission at Determined Divas is to support and empower girls and young women in our community; fostering healthy relationships, confidence, and unity.
Vision
We're not just an organization; we're a movement. Our dream includes opening a welcoming drop-in space as a hub for workshops, gatherings, and events. This space will also offer temporary refuge for single mothers in need, reinforcing our commitment to supporting every facet of our community.
Our supportive village of Determined Divas, includes youth, Seasoned Wisdom (Seniors), and single mothers, recognizing the essential role each member plays in shaping our community.

Our History
"As a proud graduate of Boston Public Schools' Dorchester High School and a former student of Roxbury Community College, I understand the importance of education and community empowerment. With over a decade of experience in nonprofit direct services and leadership roles, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and triumphs that shape our communities."

In 2015, Determined Divas started as a volunteer-led initiative by single mothers, driven by the desire to create positive change. We organized round tables where community members came together to discuss the issues that truly mattered to us. Elected officials were invited to these gatherings, providing a platform for our concerns to be heard.
When the Covid-19 pandemic struck Massachusetts in 2020, it became evident that our communities needed more support than ever before. Determined Divas rose to the occasion, partnering with local restaurants and Bodegas to assist families in need during these challenging times. We provided direct financial assistance to families and seniors, offering support for bills, groceries, rent, and even youth cell phone expenses. We also proudly supported "Essential Lives Matter" by sending food to essential workers during their demanding shifts.
Throughout the years, Determined Divas has extended a helping hand to families affected by incarceration, providing toys and gift cards for phone calls when physical visits were not possible due to Covid-19 restrictions. Additionally, we have organized youth-hosted poetry events and safe gatherings to foster creativity, connection, and personal growth among the young members of our communities.
Each year, thanks to the incredible support we receive, Determined Divas ensures that families in need have a memorable holiday season. We supply toys, pajamas, and winter necessities, spreading warmth and joy to those who need it most.
We are proud to announce our partnership with Bombas Socks, enabling us to provide one of the most essential and often overlooked necessities to the communities we serve.
